Discover the Delight of Fourme d'Ambert PDO

Whole Wheel Approx 2.1kg

Fourme d'Ambert PDO is a renowned French blue cheese, beloved for its velvety texture and mild, creamy flavour with gentle blue veining. Produced in the Auvergne region, this artisan cheese offers a perfect balance between savoury richness and subtle sweetness. It pairs beautifully with fruity accompaniments and a bold red wine, making it a versatile addition to any cheese board or culinary creation.

Tasting Notes:

  • Soft, smooth, and creamy texture
  • Delicate blue veining with a mild, nutty flavour
  • Slightly tangy with sweet undertones

Why Fourme d'Ambert Stands Out: Fourme d'Ambert holds a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status, meaning it is crafted using traditional methods and locally sourced ingredients from the specific Auvergne region. Its distinct cylindrical shape and long history make it a staple in French cheese-making, ensuring quality and authenticity with every bite.

Pairing Suggestions:

  • Pair with fruity wines like Sauternes or Port
  • Serve with figs, pears, or walnuts for a balanced bite
  • Ideal for salads, sauces, or simply spreading on fresh bread

Ingredients:

  • Pasteurised Cow's Milk
  • Salt
  • Animal Rennet
  • Cultures of Penicillium Roqueforti

Storage & Serving Tips: Keep Fourme d'Ambert in the refrigerator, ideally wrapped in wax or cheese paper. Allow the cheese to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving to enhance its flavour and aroma.

We have created a special insulation system and pack with several gel packs to ensure your order arrives in amazing and delicious condition.

Crappy Delivery?

Nearly always our deliveries hit the mark. But if, by chance that AusPost stuffs up, don't fret as we will replace your order, Free of Charge, and get you a fresh batch of amazing artisan made produce.
